Melanie Childs Handy

Capturing Beauty One Stroke At A Time

Award winning artist Melanie Childs Handy, the daughter of a loving mother and commercial artist father and the niece of well known  known Atlanta artist Joel C. Reeves one of the founders and Dean of the Atlanta College of art she was exposed to fine art at an early age.

 

Melanie's paintings have been juried into the Atlanta Portrait Society, the Booth Western Museum annual BAG exhibit, the Booth Museum Downtown Gallery, Lake Country Fine Art Show, Artisans Village Gallery and the Georgia National Fair where her submissions have been awarded Best of Show, many first and second place ribbons and merit awards as well as purchase awards.

 

She is a member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta, Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painters and many local artist guilds.

 

She has studied with internationally renowned artists Marlin Adams, John Howard Sanden, Meadow Gist, Jeffrey Watts, Cornelia Hernes, Seth Havercamp and Dan Gerhartz among other Portrait artists, as well as landscape and floral artists Jane Hunt, Elizabeth Robbins, Andrew Tischler and Amanda Lovett.
